Pipe Major Roddy MacDonald

Post by Bill Arnold » Wed Jul 11, 2007 8:07 pm

The family and friends of Roderick D. MacDonald of Carmel, Indiana USA were deeply saddened when he passed away in March of this year at age 38.
Roddy was a gifted piper whose instructors included [but weren't limited to] his father, Roderick A. MacDonald, Neil Angus MacDonald, and Duncan Johnstone.
He competed successfully from 1984 to 1987 and in 1987 became P/M of the Celtic Cross Pipe Band of Indiana. Under his leadership the band enjoyed much success in competitions around the midwestern U.S.
If this jig projects a high-spirited, uplifting feeling to the listener I will have succeeded in memorializing my friend in the manner which I intended.
