SGT Gray's Favourite (Kerry Polka)

A very simple traditional Irish tune. In fact, the very first tune that children learn on the tin whistle in National School in West Cork, Eire. Comes in a variety of slightly different arrangements and under various titles (eg Kerry Polka, Meg Ryan's Polka, Egan's Polka, Egans Polka, FABA FABA, Kerry Polka, The Kerry Polka , Peg Ryan's Polka, etc).

This tune is really very simple and straightforward to play. A great first tune for beginners. I heard my daughter playing it on her tin whistle and just wrote it up with some minor rearranging and a tiny bit of embellishment. She was just calling it the FABA FABA polka, after the notes in the first two bars.[/img]
