Lismore Pipe Band's Diamond Jubilee

Post by glenn_au » Sun May 27, 2007 11:54 pm

This year my band celebrates it's Diamond Jubilee(hence the tune).

I was hoping for some input or suggestions that may improve the tune or should I leave it as is?

Nice use of low Gs and Cs here. Traditional feel with its own sound. I like it.

I'll go over it a few more times, and see if I can suggest something, but, it seems to me you handled the notes nicely.

Sometimes the repeated 2nd and 6th bars parts can be varied in the 6th bar for a little variety and interest. On some 6/8s I might change the second group of three 8th notes in the 6th bar (Eight-dotted-Sixteenth-Eighth) to a Quarter Note-Eighth Note sequence. The longer Quarter note sometimes suggests an ending. But I'm not say your tune needs this--just another option to vary the line.
