A great place to find new tunes. If you have composed your own tune, you can upload it here to let other pipers learn it and perhaps get some feedback. PLEASE ONLY UPLOAD TUNES YOU HAVE COMPOSED YOURSELF OR HAVE EXPRESS PERMISION FROM THE COMPOSER TO DO SO.
Please only create a new topic in this forum if you are uploading a tune.

A recent trip to France

Post by philamor » Tue Jan 02, 2007 11:07 pm

In November 2006, my band (Black Watch Army Cadet Force Pipes & Drums) were invited to France to play for some of the Rememberance day parades & take in a few battlefield tours and do a wee bit PR with the locals of Valenciennes. The trip was memorablefor us all for many different reasons. I wrote a tune to commemorate our visit and intended to give it to the Somme Battlefied Pipe Band, with whom we played, at the end of the visit. However, it was decided to present the tune to the Commander of the Barracks that we stayed in, in the centre of Valenciennes, by wayof thanks for the wonderful hospitality we wer shown during our week there.

If you cannot write a tune down that you can play so that they are identical, how can you truly say you know the tune!
