Star Spangled Banner

Post by george » Sun Aug 16, 2009 4:26 pm

It's often said that The Star Spangled Banner is unplayable on pipes. The actual tune was written by John Samuel Stevens and called "The Anacreontic Song" Francis Scott Key wrote lyrics to it after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by Royal Navy ships in Chesapeake Bay during the Battle of Baltimore in the War of 1812.

I worked with both forms of the tune, and here's the result.
