Papigil, 5 part 12/8 jig

Named after the youtube moniker of a galician piper who has been very
informative to my inquiries about galician piping. While the tune doesn't
sound galician, it does have a festive, lyrical melody somewhat reminiscent of spanish music. Not too difficult and fun to play.

Good, melodic 2/4 marches are tough to write. I think this, along with
Journey to Holbaek are very nice pieces of music and my favourite of your marches. Looks like a handful, but eventually I might have to
play them. They tend to go around in my head at unexpected times--
a good sign :-)

Split the Difference, an easy 6/8 jig

I wrote this a couple of years ago and have been messing around
with it ever since. Sometimes I should just leave tunes alone :)

Nice perky jig. I pulled up your youtube site and enjoyed your music.
I've been thinking of doing the same, but I can't stand the quality
of recording I seem to be getting with my cameras. The best sounding pipe recordings with cheap equiptment seem to happen outdoors.

Duxbury Reef, a 6/8 march

Named after the treacherous reef near Stinson Beach, Cal, where I
looked at tide pools when I was young.

I like this tune well enough to learn it and have been doing just that.
It's not particulrly difficult and it is definitely a hornpipe that sounds
best with slow, gently swinging phrasing.
Thanks for making it available.

Sunset Drive

I had some trouble writing this out right because I didn't realize the BWW program could use two dots in succession. Andi M. managed to get it to
come out right and I'm posting his version here with the revised Midi.

Nice! the 3rd and 4th part get increasingly close to a hornpipe an I could see someone dancing to it.

Sunset Drive -slow air

A 6/8 slow air that also seems to work out as a 2/4 march. Named after
the street I spent my first 15 years living on.

That's a nice little tune; considering how it really gets going in the 2nd part, I think it could definitely stand a 3rd and 4th part.

Quick silver

Thanks David. Yes, I do play Sandy's New Chanter and I'll have to try them together but I was thinking there was something FMM was playing a year or two ago that might be what I was unconciously rearranging. Oh well, one has little control over that sort of thing and I don't believe it should really...

Quick silver- a light 2/4 hornpipe

An easy hornpipe. This one came so easily to me that I'm suspicious
of it's possible similarity to something I may have hear.
